Jade + Bill
A real lean into Autumn, with these two, who celebrated in a way that felt truly authentic to them.
Crowcombe Court in Somerset was the backdrop to what started as a perfect storm. Set in the Quantock Hills, it's an incredible Georgian Manor house, with a sprawling landscape backdrop, and fallow deer wandering the grounds. An idyllic English countryside venue, which Jade + Bill chose to transform into the setting for their Autumn elegance meets metal wedding day.
Both Jade + Bill got ready at Crowcombe court, Jade with the girls in the bridal suite and Bill with the lads in the gallery. Bill chose beautiful double breasted chocolate brown suits for the boys, with matching ties, accessorised with his grandad's cuff links, a new watch from Jade as his wedding present, and in his own words - the best shoes you've ever seen. He wasn't wrong. Jade's girls were in dark green dresses, each of them chose their own dress and they all looked amazing, without being too matchy matchy, they each got to wear something they felt best in. We moved up to one of the bedrooms for Jade to get dressed, which was a bit of a process! Jade is clearly a very talented seamstress, as she made her own wedding dress. It was completely unique in every sense, with multiple different elements. A HUGE skirt with buttons all the way down the back, high neck lace blouse, and ruched corset, with custom embroidered sleeves with their wedding date and initials. She looked unbelievable, and her Rebecca Anne embroidered veil finished the look.
Jade + Bill chose to have one of their closest friends conduct the ceremony, it was a total tearjerker and very personal to them both - a really lovely celebration of them both. By the ceremony, that perfect storm had changed into that glorious autumn sun, and the guests got to enjoy the outside of Crowcombe Court for their drinks reception. That gorgeous light really showed up for us, and we used both the indoor bedrooms, and outdoors to create some romantic and atmospheric portraits of the newly weds. I wanted to create a mixture really editorial, Vanity Fair style portraits + group photos for them, to emphasis the setting of the venue and the outfits they'd chosen, but also work in some super intimate and romantic portraits, and show their obvious connection.
After the meal, evening celebrations started downstairs, in a contrast to the upstairs, this was a space with a cooler and grungier feel, which fit the vibe of the day and the playlist perfectly. They first danced to The Pogues, after which Jade went and changed her skirt for a little mini to dance the night away.
It was clear just how much work had gone in to making this day unique and significant, and to feel like them. Making your own wedding dress is no easy task, but it's easily one of the most incredible dresses I've ever seen. Both Jade + Bill's personal style was at the forefront of the day, and it was amazing to see them both taking it all in and enjoying every second.
