Annabel + Alex

September is one of my favourite months for weddings, and that must be a widely held opinion as it's always been one of my busiest months. Annabel + Alex wed on the very last week of September, with those first signs of Autumn starting to creep in. A crisp chill in the air, chocolate cosmos, and the days starting to shorten, the balmy evenings have definitely gone and the seasons are shifting. Aswarby Rectory was the setting for this beautiful day, effortlessly stylish and chic, and a firm favourite venue of most wedding photographers. A+A had been to SEVEN weddings last year of their friends and family, so wanted their day to be unique, whilst picking up lots of tips along the way.

The day started in Aswarby's gorgeous bridal suite. An abundance of light and style equally, it really is a beautiful space to start the day and perfect for prep photos. Annabel had candles burning all around the venue, a scent to always remind her of her wedding day. Nu U hair and beauty were the glam squad, and perfectly did Annabel's hair in an undone, relaxed bun, and glowing natural makeup. Annabel had prepared gifts for her Nan and her Mum, as well as a letter for groom Alex to open when we arrived at the venue. Alex and the lads arrived in the treasured Land Rover, and had some relaxed photos of their arrival, buttonholes going on, first drinks and Alex reading his letter, after this it was about time for Annabel to start getting into her dress. Original and unique but classic at the same time, Annabel's dress by Ingrid Olic was a showstopper, with a dramatic slit in the front for all the movement! Just loved the windows in the bridal suite for some pre ceremony photos, and Annabel was dressed nice and early to have plenty of time to relax before the ceremony, and really take some time about having her photos taken, and a moment with her dad. The stairs at Aswarby are a huge statement feature of the venue, so the flowers cascading down looked amazing as Annabel descended for the ceremony.

They laughed their way through the ceremony, and afterwards went straight into confetti and a welcome for their two dogs, Cooper and Luther. Working with two excited dogs is no easy feat, but dog treats in the pocket of Annabel's wedding dress coaxed them to sit still long enough for portraits! 3 Heartfelt speeches in the wedding breakfast room followed, which was decorated with newspapers (these went down a treat with guests!) herb pots, deckled edge place cards and lots of candles. After the cake cut, which was done with the same knife Annabel's Nan had at her own wedding, we snuck out for some more portraits in the fields surrounding with the Land Rover. Before their first dance, they poured their champagne tower in front of the outside of the venue, looking totally stylish and editorial. Their first dance went out with a bang, with the incredible Girls that Mix really setting the tone for the evening and getting the party started. After some dancing, Annabel changed into her bridal mini dress and sunglasses, for a totally different, party, second look.

Loved photographing this wedding, at one of my all time favourite UK venues, and seeing all the thought that had gone into the details, and all the emotion from their friends and family, as well as creating some killer portraits.
