My first love was Fine Art, I originally studied painting and drawing as a medium during my degree. Constantly inspired by the renaissance and Dutch Masters, I realised my love of light and delved into the world of photography to capture that. Much of my work is still inspired by the art world, especially the renaissance period, in the tones and use of light, but I now strive for that contemporary and editorial edge. Blending the beauty of the old with the modernity of the new. I love what I do, the permanence and the importance of the photograph as a concept is paramount to me. I want everything I shoot to be authentic, to make you FEEL something, every image to have a purpose and intent.
Being from Lytham St Annes (near Blackpool) originally, I love the sea and sand, and always search for golden hour - my days out of the city are most usually spent by the sea, or up a mountain in the Lake District... But now I'm based in the city that stole my heart - Manchester. I love to travel, and I feel very lucky that my work has taken me not only across the UK, but across the world.
I live with my partner Rebecca,my two Siamese cats and our oriental short hair kitten.. When I'm not shooting, editing, adventuring or frequenting canal street, I'm on the sofa with them, eating vegan food and probably watching The Affair.
