Kim + Paul

I first met Kim + Paul around 3 or 4 years ago, when they modeled for a styled shoot for me in one of the covid lockdowns. We met in the lakes, and had a really gorgeous morning, with the landscape to ourselves and creating some magic images. Earlier this year, I was thrilled when they got in touch saying they'd gotten engaged, and wanted me to photograph their wedding. It felt like two old friends messaging me, and I instantly knew I had to work with them again. Fast forward to December 2024, and we arrived at their Christmas wedding date.

In the midst of storm Darragh, nothing could dampen this day. Planned in a matter of months, their intimate Christmas wedding at Dalston Hall was perfect for them, with their 4 boys, and their closest family and friends, their day was an intimate and atmospheric celebration of their relationship. Kim got ready in the gorgeous bridal suite at Dalston Hall, with her maid of honour, her mum and godmother. Heather, their hair and makeup artist, made them all look absolutely incredible, with Kim opting for a soft natural look, with bouncy Hollywood waves. Paul had the task of getting all the boys ready, in their smart black tie attire. Everyone looked perfect, as Kim descended down the stairs and down the aisle to Paul. They laughed their way through the ceremony, and through the confetti and group photos - which thankfully, the wind and rain held off for. We made the most of the grandness of the venue for their portraits, and used the moody interiors as the backdrop for their romantic and stylish couple photos.

Before their speeches, they shared Christmas Crackers around the tables that Kim had designed all the stationery for, based around the Christmas Carol, the Twelve Days of Christmas. Eden Valley Flowers and Willow and Fig in the Lakes put the finishing touches to the tables with seasonal florals and plenty of candles. After the speeches and the first dance, Kim got changed into a silver sparkly number and some hot pink platforms to dance the night away!

I loved being a part of this wedding, and weddings this time of the year always feel so cosy and atmospheric - it was wonderful to see this couple celebrate in a way that truly felt right for them, and enjoy every second.
