Eden Barn Wedding Photographer


Eden Barn has always been one of my favourite wedding venues, not just for how it looks and photographs, but because of the love and care that the Harker family put into running it. I really think for service it is completely unmatched, and I consistently see the Harkers go above and beyond for their couples, to make sure everyone has the incredible Eden Barn wedding they dreamed of. Not only that - but it's set in the rural Lake District country side, over looking valleys, mountains and incredible views. October always brings beautiful colours, gorgeous light and that crisp chill to the air as the seasons change, and Annabelle + Marcus' day was no different. A sumptuous Autumn wedding with substance and style.

It was important to Annabelle and Marcus to have a relaxed day, that really represented them. They just wanted to have a really, really good time with their friends and family, and not have to stress on the day. They were so laid back and let the day happen, and really were present and enjoyed it. Marcus got ready at The Wilding with the boys, also recently lovingly taken over by the Harker family, whilst Annabelle and the girls got ready in the bridal suite at Eden Barn, with the brilliant Heather C on hair and makeup. Annabelle took everything in her stride and didn't let the nerves or stress take over at all, and was laughing away right until she was ready to walk down the aisle. Marcus was visibly emotional at the sight of Annabelle, which was very touching, and they giggled their way through the ceremony and into newly married life. The weather held out, as it often does at Eden Barn, for some family portraits outside, with Annabelle's veil being heroically rescued by her brother as it flew out her hair! The stream across the road is a go to spot for couples portraits - nice and private and away from your guests, and easily just stunning. These two wanted loads of 35mm film, and a mixture of romantic and natural portraits, and that's exactly what we did. Some Wuthering Heights-esque style romantic, moody portraits, some timeless straight to camera editorial shots. and loads of natural, candid, real photos of them both.

I loved photographing this day, it felt so true to them as a couple and had so many lovely details - from a cook book for their guests to sign as a guest book, a giant tequila buzz ball and a DJ playing all their favourite music into the evening, it was an absolute joy to capture this wedding at Eden Barn, in the glorious Autumnal weather.
