Lateisha + John

It's no secret that Manchester is one of my favourite places in the world. It's where I call home, and the city really has something for everyone, so it was an absolute JOY to photograph Lateisha + John's intimate celebrations at Elizabeth Gaskell House. I met Lateisha, her brother, and her maid of honour at EG House, where they finished getting ready and had a glass of prosecco pre ceremony. They shared memories together and it was a really relaxed hour pre ceremony, and some beautiful, natural images of the bride and her closest people. Lateisha's Ghost Bridal ceremony dress was perfect for the venue, with buttons down the front and billowy sleeves, a little bit of a period piece vibe. The ceremony was held in the drawing room, with 30 of their closest friends and family. John shed a tear as Lateisha walked down the aisle with her brother, and it was a really sweet, emotional ceremony. Drinks and photos followed around Elizabeth Gaskell house, and the rain held of just long enough for us to create some gorgeous images. Lateisha changed into her reception dress, a sparkly number by Nadine Merabi, and we all headed off to the English Lounge, a quirky little pub on the edge of Manchester's Northern Quarter. Obviously a downpour started, but it wouldn't be a day in Manchester without a bit of rain! I loved L+J's reception, with a buffet meal, 6 perfectly toned and timed speeches, lots of shots and a packed dancefloor - including John's grandad who twirled me round the floor a few times. It was all really sweet and felt very authentic to them both, there was plenty of time spent with the people closest to them, and they were both present and in the moment all day - which really is how you get the best natural photos of you and your family. The whole day was just perfect for them both, with so many personal touches, like Lateisha's flowers being from the florist down the road, where John always buys her occasion bouquets, an intimate wedding with SO much heart.
