Molly + Elliot
It's no secret that Lake District wedding venue, Hidden River Cabins, has a special place in my heart. It's one of my favourite wedding venues in the UK, and for good reason, it's secluded, has room for all your guests to stay, a beautiful flowing river, and of course, the windows. When Molly + Elliot got in touch, it was clear their wedding would be very special.
Since I first met them both, they had a few huge life changes, relocating down south, new jobs, and for Elliot becoming a wedding photographer, so their wedding became a celebration of all these milestones in their lives, and a chance to have all their family and friends together. They both got ready in the houses on top of the hill, with Nala and Knot on Molly's glam team - the perfect girls to run any wedding morning and make you feel amazing. Both Elliot and Molly had very personal and unique rides down to the ceremony, Elliot in Molly's dad's amphibious jeep, of which there are only 2 in the country! and Molly in Elliot's dad's more elegant, white sportscar. Whilst the styling of their wedding had a vintage, fine art feel, this was definitely a modern wedding, with them making traditions their own. Molly was walked down the aisle by both her mum and her dad, which was a beautiful personal touch and nod to their relationships.
The ceremony and reception space was styled with wild, romantic florals by Emma Cox, one of my favourite ever florists! She had brought the outdoors in, with neutral brown, mauve and pink tones, and lots of brown foliage, bracken, twigs and trees. It complimented the venue perfectly, especially paired with the minimalistic but very chic stationery by Lilac and White, and music by 6 Strings and a Cello which really elevated the atmosphere.
After the ceremony we went for a drive round Hidden River in BSpoke by Spike's gorgeous camper, and he dropped us off at various little spots to take some portraits. A favourite moment was Molly kicking off her shoes and going barefoot to get down by the river. Molly + Elliot opted to do a speech together, as well as Elliot's dad, both of Molly's parents, and their best man, throwing traditions out the window and doing what worked best for them. The evening started by all the guests, and the couple, shoving a Betty's fondant fancy into each others face (delicately of course) and The DaddyO's took over the evening celebrations.
It was lovely to see so much personality and family significance brought into every element of their day, it really represented them both and their families, and it was amazing to see everyone so present in the moment and enjoying every aspect. The day was as beautiful aesthetically as it was emotionally, all in the most perfect setting.
