Tom + Ben
Small but mighty. The ultimate cosy autumn vibes - can you get more pinterest, autumnal aesthetic dreams than a log cabin wedding? Tom and Ben had just their favourite 30 people with them, for their wedding weekend at Hidden River cabins in Carlisle. They travelled up on the Friday, to relax and take it all in, with all their guests staying onside in either the cabins, or the Hidden River house. Hidden River is such an incredible venue, with the barn for larger weddings, and more intimate weddings happening in the log cabin and restaurant. It has such peaceful secluded privacy, the most incredible scenery, and beautiful furnishings and decor. The boys were lucky to have clear, crisp day, which meant they could get married outside their log cabin, overlooking the river, with THE most amazing floral arch as their ceremony centrepiece. Outfit wise, they opted for matching Zara suits, Tom in the burgundy and Ben in the forest green, with the bow ties to match too. I LOVED that they also opted to have one large bouquet to share, which was the most incredible focal point for portraits. They got ready together, and helped each other with their hair and bowties - beautifully intimate, and kept them relaxed all morning too. They walked down the aisle with their mums, whilst their dads had the honour of signing the registry with them, and their little nephew as ring bearer. We used the show stopping arch as a backdrop for their portraits, before heading for a walk up to the main barn to use the amazing crittal windows, and get to the prime spot to get next to the river. They wanted a really relaxed day, which is exactly what they had... minimal group photos, no speeches, nothing really too formal, just everyone enjoying themselves in the most picturesque setting. After their meal at the cafe, we were blessed with some golden hour, so took full advantage and did some champagne spray shots! They boys had also bought some sparklers, so we did a little evening receiving line with the sparklers too. Then commenced the Big Gay House Party in the cabin, with some DIY disco lights, a playlist of their favourite songs through the ages, and a romantic first dance, they partied with their friends and family and favourite cocktails.
This was a DIY wedding in the absolute best way, focused on them both and no stress whatsoever, there was so much time for everyone to take it all in, to create beautiful portraits, and for everyone to enjoy their time together. This wedding will definitely be one forever in my heart, and the previews are just so special.
