Beck + Amanda
When Sarah from Wild Ivy invited me to take part in a styled shoot at one of the Lake District's newest and most stylish wedding venues, it was an immediate yes from me. Set in the heart of Cumbria, Holesfoot is a beautiful Lake District venue. A renovated manor house with plenty of personality and character, Italian gardens, a cosy barn and a gorgeous boating lake, it really has it all and has been lovingly designed by it's owner Liv. It was amazing to have the place as my playground for the day, and use this beautiful setting as a backdrop for a moody, but modern editorial.
Beck and Amanda are a real couple, also modelling for my next workshop at The Giraffe Shed, and they perfectly brought the editorial to life - we wanted romance but contemporary, and they were naturals in front of the camera. They both wore outfits from Jean Jackson Couture, a Manchester bridal powerhouse, with Beck wearing brand new Rue De Seine bridal, with metres and metres of flowing romantic pleats, whilst Amanda wore custom Jean Jackson, with a structured corset, neck scarf and chic minimalist flowing skirt. For their second looks, Amanda opted for a super gorgeous sleek suit, whilst Beck was in custom Jean Jackson lace - super modern and high fashion.
Sarah and Willow and Fig had transformed the barn into a romantic and moody renaissance still life. With burgundy florals and styling, I loved using the light coming into the barn to play with shadows and light and depth. White Orchid Print and Design had created beautiful menus adorned with a velvet bow, and matching draped seating plan. As the girls got into their second outfits, we headed outside into the Italian gardens for a romantic sweetheart table set up, complete with draping and burgundy and pink candles. The cake by Kelly at Wren Cake Design was a moody work of art, with sugar flowers and fine art detailing.
I loved getting to visit Holesfoot in the Lake District, and this will definitely be a new favourite Lake District venue for me. I'm so obsessed with these images, the vision really came to life and it just felt like a dream. It's always a joy to showcase LGBTQ+ weddings and representation and create beautiful, diverse wedding imagery that everyone can see themselves in.
