Caroline + Lisa
One of those days that truly felt like a dream - a morning in the lakes, documenting the moment that this beautiful couple got engaged.
Caroline got in touch with me a few months ago, explaining how she wanted to propose to Lisa in the Lake district - a place where they visit frequently and is really important to them. It was important to Caroline that it would be private and secluded, without attention, which if you know the Lakes, is getting increasingly difficult. We chose an early, Autumn Friday morning, and were lucky enough to feel like we had the whole world to ourselves.
I made the journey solo up to the cave, and waited for them there, pretending to be a hobbyist landscape photographer. I'd briefed Caroline about the stepping stones, and how amazing it would look for those to be the backdrop for the moment, she assured me she'd be able to make it happen! There I waited for them, until they arrived, hopped over the stones, and Caroline got down on one knee and popped the question. Lisa, quickly said yes, and we ventured around Ambleside for an outfit change and some moody, romantic photos.
A totally gorgeous morning that felt like it came straight out of a poem, caves, waterfalls, grottos, low hanging clouds and mist, and an amazing connection between a couple deciding to start their lives together,
