London Wedding on 35mm film

London weddings always feel so dynamic to me - the movement across the city, the busy background noise of the day, and this was a beautiful example of feeling like the city slowed down, just for the day.

Isi + Talia chose to have a more relaxed style wedding, with an intimate ceremony, and even more intimate meal in the middle and a bigger party back in Greenwich, where they live. Everything felt so significant and personal, with a very small amount of suppliers, and so many of the details being handmade by the brides. They really love 35mm film, so a lot of this London wedding day was photographed on a mixture of digital and 35mm film, for that timeless, nostalgic feel.

The day started with Isi and Talia getting ready together, in a gorgeous air bnb in Hackney, that really gave New York City loft vibes. They got ready in matching pyjamas that Isi had embroidered, with a family friend working his magic on their hair, whilst Talia's mum steamed the hand embroidered hankercheifs, and Isi's dad picking up their flowers. It was a truly hand made, family effort, but in the best way - everything was finished beautifully and didn't look at all hand made, even though it had all been made and thought of with so much love and intention. They both wrote their vows separately, and their mums helped them get dressed separately too, before they had a first look together in the loft, before heading off in a taxi to their ceremony at Clissold House.

This was a gorgeous, relaxed summer wedding across London, and I loved shooting an abundance of 35mm film too. For another London Wedding...

At Clissold House they were joined by 60 of their closest family and friends, to witness their intimate wedding ceremony. They shared personal vows, as well as a kiss, before exiting the venue to a joyous amount of confetti! They spilled out of the venue and onto the grounds for a drinks reception and some group photos, and enjoyed some time with all their guests, before everyone made their separate ways for a short break before the party!

Isi and Talia headed to The Albion in Islington for a small meal with their parents, siblings and Talia's grandma, and it was such a lovely opportunity for their immediate families to sit down together and spend some time with each other, and slow the day down again, to have an intimate meal before the party really started!

After their meal, we headed over to Greenwich, and took some couple portraits around the iconic naval colleges. It's such a beautiful area and so easy to create gorgeous, romantic and editorial portraits there. I love the photos of Isi and Talia together there, they feel so atmospheric and romantic, and it was a chance for them to both reconnect and take some moments together to take in the day.

After a short portrait session, the girls nipped home to freshen up, before making a big entrance into the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, where they met their guests from earlier, and some evening guests for the party to begin. Their cake was a real showstopper, and this was the real exciting part of the wedding for Talia, who's non negotiable was a cake from Presto London, and Isi's was having me to photograph it all - what an honour.

As the vinyl DJ started spinning the decks, they had their first dance to Aretha Franklin, and danced the night away to vintage vinyls and spanish music. It was an absolute joy to be a part of, it felt so carefree and like a 90s romcom wedding. It was just beautiful and it's always amazing to work with a couple who values what you do so much and puts so much trust in you. Thank you Isi + Talia, I love this gallery.
