Shaquille + Stewart
A day of epic proportions, in the best city in the world, Manchester. Shaquille + Stewart's city wedding was planned to perfection, and had as much style as it did substance and heart.
I was second shooting this wedding for my good friend, Gail Secker, who invited me to photograph groom prep and be her second pair of eyes. So the day started with the boys, in a beautiful air bnb on Deansgate. The lads were suited and booted in the classic Black tie, with calla lily buttonholes and bowties. We then took a whistle stop tour round the city to drop their bags at the reception venue, and back to Deansgate to the iconic Manchester Hall for their ceremony.
Stewart nervously waited for his bride, and truly broke down in tears when he saw Shaquille walk down the aisle. It was a beautiful, emotional ceremony, with them both taking in the magnitude of the moment. After the ceremony, the guests and I headed off on a vintage bus to the beautiful Blackfriars Pub, whilst Gail and the newly weds whisked around the city for portraits. The Blackfriars was a stunning setting for their meal, with elevated pub grub, floor to ceiling windows and lots of greenery. It looked gorgeous, with each guest having a caricature at their place setting. It was worth making a little bit of time for some portraits in their reception room, before the guests head in and took their seats. After their meal, they all head to Dukes 92 in Castlefield for their night of partying!
I love Manchester weddings, the effortless style of strutting around the city, the relaxed and gritty vibe contrasting with the editorial feel of a classic wedding. Manchester Hall and the Blackfriars were two amazing venues, with plenty of character, light and oozing that chic Manchester feel!
