Abi + James

The first of my June weddings this year, and what a day. When you think Scotland wedding, you think moody, mist, probably some drizzle, but this day couldn't have been further from that, beautiful blue skies and maybe one of the hottest UK weddings I've photographed. Abi + James chose the beautiful setting of Tullibole Castle, in Kinross to get married. A private and secluded estate, where they said I do in the grounds, in front of the small river and ruins. It was so idyllic, and the summer florals by Wildflower Workshop were the perfect, organic, wild looking installations to set the scene.

James and the lads got ready inside the hall of the castle, with kilts from Macgregor and Macduff and copious amounts of whiskey from Raer, whilst the girls and Man of Honour got ready together in the cottage, and helped Abi into her Mori Lee gown. As the guests arrived, Tam the Piper brought all of the authentic Scottish vibes, piping them into the ceremony, and accompanied the girls to the aisle. The ceremony was a personal and beautiful service, led by a humanist celebrant.

The couple said all that they wanted was a relaxed day, and that's exactly what they got. In the summer sun with all of their friends and family and favourite people, it couldn't have been more chilled, with everyone living in the moment and taking in every second. The speeches and meal took place in the long stone barn, a welcome break from the heat, and Abi's dad, Man of Honour, James, and his two best men all said some beautiful, meaningful and hilarious words, respectively.

After a quick dress change for Abi and kicking her shoes off, the evening was taken away by Cut The Cake band, with James and Abi starting the celebrations with their first dance, which are some of my favourite photos from the entire day. The guests filled the dancefloor and attempted a few Ceidlidhs. We finished the evening with some golden hour portraits, when you get a beautiful hot day, you know that golden hour will be waiting in the evening, and the light was so stunning, it was worth the wait.

A thoroughly enjoyed and savoured Scottish wedding at Tullibole Castle, everything that these two wanted, and perfect to document and be a part of.
