Chris + Joe


Chris + Joe's day was an embrace of everything autumnal, their concept for their vision was Autumn leaves, florals and colours, with a nod to their favourite books and films, in the styling and tables - Harry Potter.


Wyresdale Park is such a magical venue - a huge, sprawling estate, with a house to get ready in, the beautiful white wedding barn, boating lake, and forest. It's perfect for Autumn weddings, with lots of window light for indoor portraits, and huge amounts of space of indoor group shots. You can stay sheltered in bad weather and still get incredible images, however if you do get a dry day, it's amazing to walk round the estate, and have some moments alone whilst having your portraits taken.


Chris and Joe got ready separately, Joe in the main barn, and Chris in the west wing of the house, however they decided to meet for a first look before the ceremony. This was really lovely and emotional, they wanted their first look to be away from all their guests and private, and they wanted to walk down the aisle together - so it made sense for them to do this first! It also meant they did some of their portraits before the ceremony, which for autumn/winter weddings and unpredictable weather and shorter days, really can be a blessing.


They were lucky enough to have a dry day, so after their ceremony we did confetti in the courtyard, and went for a walk round the grounds. They had nearly 200 guests, so it was really nice to have a breather! They had long feasting style tables in the main barn, which looked amazing, and in my opinion, you can never go wrong with this style. The tables had pumpkins, Harry Potter names, and rustic dried florals. Their meal was sharing starter boards, and a pizza van for their main, which went down a treat!


Chris is in an acapella group, so he sang for Joe, as well as the group providing entertainment throughout the drinks reception, plus their friends singing as a trio for the evening. It was the perfect day for them both, encompassing their favourite things with their favourite people, and the images are all beautifully autumnal - bang on theme.
