MOUNT WITHOUT Wedding Photographer
The Mount Without wedding venue in Bristol is a wedding venue like other. An 800 year old deconsecrated church, set right in the centre of Bristol and now renovated for weddings and events, it is absolutely awe inspiring and there is truly no other wedding venue like this in the UK. It is perfect for couples wanting a wedding venue that is jaw dropping, historic, and has that moody, dark academia feel. A very timely shoot due to the release of the recent Wuthering Heights film, I feel dark, gothic romance is in it's renaissance period, and couples are leaning into that moodier, darker feel for their wedding aesthetic. This shoot was put together by the incredible Sarah, the brain behind the styling company, Stories of Events, and the whole feel and aesthetic of the shoot was immaculate.

As it's early season, getting creative at styled editorials is the perfect way to ease into the year, and dust off the cameras after the long dark months, and make sure I'm on top form again for my spring couples. Anything gothic romance really speaks to my heart, and this shoot felt like it came from my own dreams. It was so beautiful, with an abundance of high fashion and also gothic florals by Emma Cox Floristry, beautiful, dramatic sweeping gowns curated by Beck at Jean Jackson Couture, and stunning, fresh, editorial hair and makeup by Daniella Hair and Makeup. All the couples looked incredible, and the venue was a gothic dream, with details like stationery by Lucy McSpirit Design and cakes by Jo at The Orchid Kitchen providing the finishing touches. I wanted to photograph this on 35mm and digital, to create that really timeless and vintage feel with the film, and capturing every in between moment with digital.

35mm is so nostalgic, timeless and atmospheric. I love the variety it brings to a gallery and slowing down my photographic process to focus
35mm Film Wedding Photographer - The Mount Without
I wanted this shoot to feel really romantic, really intimate and always really moody. The whole feel of the shoot really was leaning into that anyway, and the styling with the dramatic gothic dresses and historic setting really made sense for something darker and more sensual. Our beautiful models, Kitty and Rene, Michaela and Joe and solo bride Isabelle, all looked like absolute art and could feel the vision straight away. I wanted not only the dramatic romantic moments, but the moments in between, to capture little moments of connection and images that highlighted the fashion and details in a way that felt really real and atmospheric. The Mount Without is a seriously beautiful venue, but the work of the whole team really brought together the vision in its entirety.
I feel like that's exactly what I got in this gallery, and all the elements of the shoot came together to create something incredibly beautiful, gallery below with more frames!
