City Observatory, Calton Hill, Edinburgh Wedding Photographer
Atop Calton Hill, overlooking the entirety of Edinburgh, sits the city observatory. A small, intimate wedding venue, for couples wanting a quiet, romantic wedding, with panoramic views of Edinburgh, and a moody, dark academia feel in this historic and gothic city. Amanda from Coorie Wedding planning brought together a talented group of Edinburgh wedding suppliers, to create a rich, amtospheric, bridal editorial shoot in this beautiful little venue. With two different vignettes for storytelling and creating, led by iconic wedding photographer Jennifer Moher, it was a beautiful, slow day of creation and play - to inspire and reframe approaching photographing weddings and storytelling. This is the second of the two concepts, gorgeous solo bridal model Natalia, in her artists studio.

Edinburgh is the perfect spot for elopements - the architecture, the moody feel, the history, for my darker and more romantic style of wedding photography, I feel a real affinity with the city and everything I create whenever I'm there. Imagine this editorial as your bridal preparations, just you, in your space, surrounded by tulle and pearls, barefoot listening to your music with excitement and apprehension before marrying the love of your life in Edinburgh. Twirling and yearning before the ceremony, dreaming what could be - this is where we meet this session, with Natalia and her paintbrushes, musing and becoming the muse, dreaming of what's to come.

Edinburgh Wedding Editorial
This session felt like it came straight out of my dreams, the concept by Amanda and Jennifer was just perfect. Dark, moody, romantic, soft, dancing around in this space with all the beautiful trinkets and moving parts that brought it together was truly inspiring and I'm in love with these images, and feel refreshed for a busy summer. Natalia's dress by Flossy and Dossy was a custom creation, with long, billowing sleeves, layers and texture, so much movement and a deep v back, paired with her pearl jewllery from Maria Sarinana, it was a pair that felt like they were made for each other. Abi Taylor created the soft glowing makeup look, and relaxed, undone bridal hair on Natalia, with fine art stationery by Paige n Co.
There's another concept to come from this beautiful day, but for now, images of Natalia below - Thank you to this whole team, and especially Amanda for this inspiring day.
