Giraffe Shed Wedding Photographer
Where to start with the wonderful Hannah and Ben. What a wedding this was, and a whirlwind of a planning process for them!
The Giraffe Shed is one of my favourite ever UK wedding venues. Set in the rolling welsh countryside in Mid Wales, it's an incredible and unique venue, with accomodation on site, and the best ever owners who give you loads of flexibility to really make the day your own. Han (one half of the venue owners) wanted to set up a competition to help one couple plan their dream wedding for a bit of a deal, and have the opportunity to have the space looking really amazing, by enlisting myself as the photographer included in the deal, and the wonderful Steph Chen events on styling. Meaning one couple could win the venue, their photographer, and their styling for a bargain bundle deal, meaning they get the wedding of their dreams, and we got to set up the wedding of our dreams at one of the best unique wedding venues. Hannah and Ben were that couple, and after their elopement to vegas a few years prior, this was their opportunity to celebrate their marriage in front of their friends and family, and enjoy a wedding day with everyone they love.

Hannah and Ben wanted to bring a little bit of Vegas to Mid Wales, and with the help of styling genius Steph Chen Events, and floral wizard PowerPlant flowers, they totally achieved their dream. With hearts suspended from the ceiling of The Giraffe Shed, bright florals, bright pops of red, pink and orange, a gorgeous piped heart shaped retro cake, and so many little details that brought it all together - it looked amazing, and they even managed to get some beautiful weather to get married outside, overlooking the lake on the venue. As they'd had their runaway wedding day, this one was all about having the moments with their family and friends. Hannah soaked up every second getting ready with the girls, in their matching bright pyjamas, before they got changed into their bright pink, red and orange dresses, and Hannah into her show stopping dress with those incredible puff sleeves! It was an emotional morning, with tears all round, especially when Hannah's dad saw her for the first time. Hannah had put so much thought into looking after everyone and making sure everyone felt valued and loved, which was so lovely to see. Ben got ready down at the shed with his boys, who all looked super smart in their black tie, adorned with some pops of bright floral buttonaires. Their outdoor ceremony was an absolute joy, with more tears, especially from Hannah who couldn't hold them back! Their ceremony was led by one of Hannah's longest friends, with some personal readings added in too.

This was a high energy, fun, love filled family and friends affair at the Giraffe Shed. For the shed in a completely different light...

After their ceremony, we did the iconic Giraffe Shed confetti moment, and straight into some friends and family portraits, whilst the rest of the guests enjoyed a grazing board al fresco. I loved photographing Hannah + Ben's family and friends, in the same spot they had their ceremony, overlooking the lake with some beautiful views. The girls in their different tones of dresses, and the guys in their black tie all looked incredible and brought the energy! We did some gorgeous couple portraits by the lake, before heading back into the shed for their big entrance, and some beautiful and emotional speeches.
Their wedding breakfast was stonebaked pizzas, which went down a treat, and I loved the relaxed atmosphere throughout the day, with guests mingling outdoors, enjoying the sun, with plenty of drinks flowing. Into the evening, Hannah had an emotional first dance with her dad, and a beautiful first dance with Ben, before really letting loose on the dancefloor. The guests loved it and really went wild!
I loved photographing this wedding, The Giraffe Shed is easily one of my favourite venues to work at, because it's so beautiful but also so unique and customisable, they don't limit their couples at all and you can build a totally personal day here. Steph and Powerplant were also absolute dreams to work with and everything looked INCREDIBLE - I expected nothing less when the bride is a wedding photographer herself!
